This handcrafted beaded handle has been carefully handcrafted by Maxwell, a talented South African artist. His colourful patterns, inspired by the rich beadwork culture, make each lantern a unique piece.

What makes Sonnenglas® special?

This is a sustainable light source that features a charming design that adds a decorative touch to any garden or balcony. The solar module stores energy during the day, which is then released as light at night. The solar module also works without the glass and, due to its small size, fits in any backpack or pocket, so you're always supplied with light on the go – ideal for camping! This way, you not only provide light and a stylish design accent, but also reduce your environmental footprint.

Here's how it works:

• Place the Sun Glass® or just the solar module in a bright location with direct sunlight.
• Once the Sun Jar® is charged, you can turn it on using the magnetic lever switch.
• Fill the glass with flowers, sand or shells - get creative!
• The solar module can also be charged via USB-C; the cable is not included in the delivery.

The social aspect:

Since 2011, the solar lights have been handcrafted by the company Suntoy in South Africa. This has created new jobs, 75% of which are held by women. The workers are paid fairly; the starting salary is more than 50% above the local minimum wage, and the standard 40-hour work week is adhered to.
